Two Years

It's been 2 years since I have posted to this blog. I guess since joining FB, who needs a blog? I just remembered some pictures I posted here when I saw this picture. It reminds me of the picture of Phoebe and Moe I have posted below. Haha!

Happy Birthday, Abby!

This was a very happy and sad day for me. I am so thankful to have Abby here with us. It was awful last year not being able to celebrate her birthday with her. I loved getting the pictures of her eating cake off a chopstick though. I will cherish those pictures forever!

I pray for two people in China that I hope have peace with their decision to part with their daughter. I do hope it was a difficult decision because that would mean she was loved very much. If I could talk to them now, I would tell them how much we love Abby and how much she has changed our lives for the better. I would tell them we only want the very best for her and we will do anything and everything for her. I would want them to know she is happy and healthy. Some how, some way, I hope they know all these things. They may not feel they made a huge sacrifice, but I do. For that sacrifice, I will be eternally grateful.

Happy Birthday to my big 2 year old! I can't believe it! My baby isn't a baby anymore. : (

Happy Referral Day!

It has been one year since we first saw your face. I can't believe it! I remember the excitement well. I got a call from CCAI but missed it. When I heard the voicemail message I KNEW something was up. Of course, I tried calling right back but couldn't get in touch with anyone. I had to go to lunch, but I couldn't eat because of all the butterflies in my stomach. I had dreamed of what you might look like so many times. It was so wonderful to finally see the face of the little girl I had been dreaming about. I will never forget the details of that day and I can't wait for the day when you want to hear the story about it. Abby, you have been the most wonderful gift! We feel so lucky and blessed to have you in our lives.

Wow, the expression hasn't changed a bit.
(I promise, she does smile.)

In Memory of Our Moe

Moe
Found us in October 2001
Left us on 07/02/2010

You sweet boy. We will miss you so much. You put up a strong fight, but it was just your time to go. Not many people can describe their cats as loyal but you were. You took walks with us, picked on your dogs, snuggled a lot, and kept us laughing. I will always remember the night you found us. It was a cold October evening and we were sitting on the deck by the chiminea. You came up there, snuggled up to your daddy, and feel asleep. You have been a part of our lives ever since. Thank you for being such a wonderful companion.

My Garfield

You loved picking on Phoebe, but she was really your pal. You snuggled with her too.

WE LOVE YOU!

Six Months as a Family!!!

Ok, hopefully I can update our blog more often now that we have multiple computers with internet access. Thank you, honey. With just one internet wired computer, it was hard getting a turn on it when you have a 16 year old in the house.

As I was sitting here tonight, I realized that exactly six months ago we were about to meet our daughter for the first time. It was the morning of December 7, so locally, that would make it the evening of the 6th. This was one of our very first family photographs.

In the past six months Abby has brought us countless smiles, laughes, hugs and kisses. She is pure joy and love! We cannot imagine our lives without her! Thank you, sweet girl, for being our daughter. We love you!

Home at Last

We are home from China with our new little angel. It was a wonderful trip! We are just starting to get over our jet-lag. I will TRY to post pictures from our trip as time allows. Here is a picture of the best Christmas present I ever received.
